We would like to welcome two new recruits to the Cacao Forest team in the Dominican Republic: Jaimelissa Santana and Jorge Calderón.

Jaimelissa Santana

Jaimelissa Santana

Jaimelissa joined the marketing team in March. Her main responsibility is rolling out the business development strategy for cocoa-related products, having taken over from Ana Montero in this role. A food technology graduate of ISA University, Jaimelissa has a sound understanding of food security, preventive controls for human food, and functional foods. Her previous food industry experience as a technical and production supervisor will be of great benefit in dealing with the issues and challenges facing the Cacao Forest project.

Jorge Calderón

Jorge Calderón

Jorge was recruited as communication manager for the Dominican Republic last February. He works directly with Sebastián Cardenas, the project’s general coordinator, mainly in developing local communication. Jorge graduated from Universidad Católica Santo Domingo with a degree in advertising and also has technical/vocational training in web design, digital marketing and graphic design. He has coordinated communication and graphic design projects for various organisations and taken part in projects to develop audiovisual products.

We are delighted to welcome them to the team, where they are proving to be a valuable addition to the Cacao Forest project’s resources.
